The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the establishment of a special force in the Kurram Road security, under which 407 personnel will be recruited.
A provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur was held, in which the cabinet was briefed on the situation of implementing the decisions of the provincial government for sustainable peace in Kurram district.

The briefing stated that 189 people were killed in various incidents of unrest in Kurram since October last year, as a result of the provincial government’s efforts to normalize the situation in Kurram resulted in a peace agreement.
The meeting was informed that nine convoys containing 718 vehicles have been sent so far for the availability of essential goods in the area. At present, there is no shortage of essential commodities in the area.

Authorities told the cabinet that at the behest of the Chief Minister, about 4,000 people were provided air transport through 153 flights of two helicopters of the provincial government to Kurram.
Authorities further told the meeting that 19,000 kilograms of medicines have been delivered to the area so far, 151 bunkers have been demolished under cabinet decision and peace agreement. By March 23, a deadline for demolition of all bunkers in the area has been set.

The briefing stated that 120 security posts would be set up on Kurram Road. Security posts will be provided with essential equipment worth Rs 764 million.
