LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz laid the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art Saudi-German Hospital in Lahore Smart City by pressing a button along with Batterjee Group Chairman Sultan Sobhi Batterjee.

She said on the occasion, “The Lahore Batterjee Medical City will have a total of 500 beds, while Saudi-German Hospital Lahore, built at a cost of $250 million, will have 300 beds. The Saudi-German Hospital Network is known worldwide for its modern medical technology and quality treatment services.”

The network is providing services in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco and Yemen.

The chief minister said, “The Saudi-German Hospital will provide high-quality modern medical facilities not only to the people of Lahore but of the entire Punjab.” The hospital will be equipped with modern medical technology and international standard facilities.

She also underscored that the hospital to be established in Lahore Smart City would provide employment opportunities to the youth.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “I want to improve the entire health system of Punjab. The private sector should contribute its share in this regard. The new hospital will prove to be a milestone in improving public health and establishing a welfare society.”

Meanwhile, PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met MPAs belonging to Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan. Public welfare projects and future political strategies were discussed in the meeting.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said an economic turnaround was likely and reduction in the policy rate had increased the confidence of the business community. “After tough economic conditions, inflation has decreased and it is hoped that the people will get more relief due to further reduction in price-hike,” he added.

He said, “Time has proven that our opponents know nothing but displaying hatred, jealousy, using abusive language, showing rudeness and indecency. PML-N holds an excellent record of serving the country and the nation in the political, defence and development fields. If the continuity of development had not been broken, the country would have been far ahead in the region.”
