A rare sambar deer has been rescued by wildlife authorities after crossing into Pakistan from India.

The deer was found in the border area of Jandiala and was safely brought into custody following a rescue operation, reported.

Local residents alerted the authorities after spotting the deer, which was later transferred to the Wildlife Park in Jallo for care and rehabilitation. According to wildlife officials, the deer is healthy and young, and it will be closely monitored as part of its recovery process.

The authorities speculated that the sambar deer, which is typically found in India, may have wandered across the border due to disorientation or natural migration.

Officials from the Wildlife Department expressed their relief that the deer was found unharmed and is now under professional care at the sanctuary.
