Mohamed Salah on course for greatest individual Premier League season ever

Liverpool’s dominance in the 2024-25 Premier League season continues, and Mohamed Salah is at the heart of their success. The Reds hold an 11-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the table, and Salah’s individual brilliance has made him the league’s standout performer.

Beyond the Premier League, Salah is also Europe’s top scorer across the ‘big five’ leagues, ahead of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski. As such, he’s leading the race for the ‘European Golden Boot’ as well.

His all-round attacking influence has led to growing calls for him to be considered a frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or, with pundits comparing his season to those of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in their prime.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher called Salah’s form “an all-time season,” adding, “this is going to end up being the greatest season we’ve seen from an individual.”

Former teammate Daniel Sturridge echoed the sentiment, stating, “We have to start putting him in the Ballon d’Or conversation. His motivation and professionalism set him apart.”

Salah’s consistency has also seen him rise to sixth in the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts with 182 goals, just two behind Sergio Aguero. If his current form continues, he could challenge Thierry Henry’s record for the most Golden Boots in Premier League history.

With 11 games remaining, Salah has the opportunity to etch his name further into football history. He already has 50 goal involvements in 38 appearances in all competitions this season.

However, uncertainty looms over his Liverpool future, as his contract expires this summer. Talks remain ongoing, but for now, Salah’s focus remains on leading Liverpool to their 20th league title.
