Road safety
The recent tragic road accident in Gambat, Khairpur District, is yet another stark reminder of the Sindh government’s failure to ensure road safety and maintain proper infrastructure. Despite numerous accidents occurring across the province, the authorities have failed to take concrete measures to address the root causes of these disasters. Poorly maintained roads, a lack of traffic law enforcement, and an absence of a comprehensive transportation policy have made commuting increasingly dangerous for the public. The condition of roads in many areas, including Gambat, remains deplorable, with potholes, broken asphalt, and uncovered manholes posing constant threats to drivers and pedestrians.
Reckless driving, overloading of vehicles, and a blatant disregard for traffic regulations continue to exacerbate road safety concerns. The Sindh government must take urgent action to improve road conditions and traffic management across the province. This includes conducting regular road maintenance, installing proper traffic signals and signs, and launching strict awareness campaigns to educate the public on traffic rules and safety.

Traffic accidents are increasing day by day and most tend to occur due to overspending or distracted driving. Many drivers, especially those behind the wheels of heavy vehicles, do not care about other commuters and aim to reach their destination by any means necessary. This includes breaking any and all traffic laws on the way.
We need better enforcement of traffic rules and to ensure that all drivers are properly trained and licenced to solve this problem.
