
Prime Minister orders action against elements involved in sugar storage

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered strict action against the elements involved in sugar storage.
A high -level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif discussed in detail the supply of sugar in the country, control of prices and the supply of cheap food items to the general public.
At the meeting, the federal and provincial governments were instructed to work together to ensure that the common man should provide basic items at appropriate rates.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the government’s strict operations in the past months have helped to eliminate sugar smuggling. And no storage or artificial inflation will be tolerated in Ramadan.
The Prime Minister also directed to take more stringent measures to overcome sugar prices.

The meeting also considered immediate steps to take uninterrupted supply of food items and strict monitoring of prices during Ramadan.
The Prime Minister made it clear that providing cheap items to the people is the top priority of the government and every possible step will be taken for this purpose.
