Mohammad Javad Zarif

Iran’s Vice President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Jawad Zarif has resigned from his post.

According to Iranian state media, President Masood Pashtakian received the resignation of Jawad Zarif, but no final decision has been made yet.

After resigning, Jawad Zarif revealed that he and his family were facing severe accusations, threats and humiliation. The head of the Iranian judiciary advised him to resign.

Inflation rises, Iranian Finance Minister fired

Jawad Zarif remained the Foreign Minister in the government of Hassan Rouhani from 2013 to 2021. He played an important role in the nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers.

In the last year’s presidential election, Jawad Zarif supported the current Iranian President Masood Pashtakian.
