According to Iranian state media, President Masood Pashtakian received the resignation of Jawad Zarif, but no final decision has been made yet.

After resigning, Jawad Zarif revealed that he and his family were facing severe accusations, threats and humiliation. The head of the Iranian judiciary advised him to resign.
