Negotiations between the Finance Minister and the IMF Mission complete

Negotiations between the Finance Minister and the IMF mission were completed, the economic team briefed the delegation on the performance of the first eight months of this fiscal year.

According to sources, the briefing stated that economic stability has come to the country after the IMF program. The IMF delegation was led by Nathan Porter, head of the review mission.

Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb briefed the delegation on the economic situation and assured the IMF of full implementation of the program, the Finance Ministry briefed on the economic situation from July to February.

Details were presented on fiscal deficit, primary balance, provinces’ surplus and revenue collection, sources said, adding that the IMF delegation spoke on Revenue from July to January this fiscal.

Economic, Budget Wing, External Finance, Regulations Wing and DG DAT also briefed the IMF at the briefing that the fiscal deficit was recorded at Rs 1,337 billion from July to December.

Chairman FBR Rashid Lingriyal also attended the talks, he briefed the delegation on the revenue collection, FBR board members also attended the delegation’s talks.

According to sources, the IMF delegation will give suggestions for the next fiscal year’s budget, Pakistan submitted a report on the implementation of the terms of the $ 7 billion loan program while a report on the first half of this fiscal year was also submitted to the IMF.
