Flawed selection

The cricket experts and most ordinary people are highly disappointed with the dismal performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. In my opinion, one of the main reasons for the poor performance of our team was unsatisfactory coaching, as reflected by the lack of modern-day cricketing skills demonstrated in the matches by our players.

Another reason was the sidelining of spinners in selections. Meanwhile, both the spinners of New Zealand and India took 50 percent of the wickets in their respective encounters against Pakistan. The over-reliance of Pakistani selectors on pace attacks was a flawed policy.
