Car driver held after motorcyclist’s death

Lodhran:

A speeding car collided with a motorcycle in Lodhran, resulting in the death of a man and injuring his niece on Wednesday.

The accident occurred near WAPDA Colony when a car driven by Hakim Shahzad, alias Loha Paar, struck the motorcycle carrying Haji Mushtaq Samra and his niece, Sonia.

According to reports, Hakim Shahzad was traveling from Lodhran to Bahalpur when his vehicle crashed into the motorcycle, leaving both victims critically wounded.

Passers-by rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital, but due to the severity of their injuries, they were referred to Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur.

Despite medical efforts, Haji Mushtaq Samra succumbed to his injuries.

His funeral prayers were offered on Wednesday, and he was laid to rest amid a sombre gathering of family and community members.

The police have registered a case against the driver, Hakim Shahzad, and taken him into custody for further investigation.

A video of the accident circulating on social media shows him at the scene immediately after the collision.
