
New westerly wave to enter in country on March 09

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a new weather system is set to enter the country by March 09.
The rainfall under the influence of this westerly wave expected to continue until March 16, according to the weather report.
Parts of Baluchistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan likely to receive rainfall with thunderstorm.
According to the Met Office, most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, will experience cloudy conditions on Sunday and Monday.
Experts predicted that the rain-bearing system will bring showers to several districts of Punjab on March 12 and 13.
The Met Office has apprehended urban flooding in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and other cities in the region.
Heavy snowfall could block roads in upper areas with possibility of land sliding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan region.
Experts said that these post-winter spring rains, often linked to Western Disturbance (WD) systems, can be intense and may cause damage due to high winds and hail.
