Girl shot dead by uncle

A 17-year-old girl was shot dead by her uncle in Chung’s Gopay Rai village.

According to officials, the suspect opened fire on his niece, Samaha, early in the morning before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Upon receiving information, police shifted the body to a morgue for post-mortem via an Edhi ambulance and launched an investigation. Initial findings suggest that the suspect had an argument with family members a few days ago, which led to the fatal attack. Police said they were conducting raids to arrest the suspect, while further inquiries are under way.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a man suspected of killing his sister in the name of honour in Harbanspura.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Abu Bakar, had shot dead his sister, Laiba, two days ago. Officials said the incident was motivated by ‘honour’.
