Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, asserting that such cowardly acts will not weaken Pakistan’s commitment to peace.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the PM expressed shock and sorrow over the attack, which claimed the lives of innocent passengers. He shared that he had spoken with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, who briefed him on the latest developments regarding the attack.
“The entire nation is deeply shocked by this dastardly act and saddened by the loss of innocent lives,” he said. “I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray that Allah grants them the highest ranks in Jannah. I also wish a swift recovery to the injured.”
The Prime Minister went on to announce that dozens of the terrorists responsible for the attack have been “sent to hell,” as security forces continue operations to eliminate the threat.
A day earlier, Jaffar Express, with over 400 passengers on board in nine bogies, was on its way from Quetta to Peshawar when it came under attack in the Dhadar area of Bolan Pass on Tuesday.
“All 33 terrorists have been sent to hell…. Four Frontier Corps personnel embraced martyrdom during the clearance operation,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed on Wednesday.
