Travis Scott’s involvement in professional wrestling is intensifying as the rapper is reportedly training for in-ring action under WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
His growing presence in WWE follows a controversial moment at Elimination Chamberwhere his slap reportedly ruptured Cody Rhodes’s eardrum during an angle with John Cena and The Rock.
According to Wrestling Observer RadioScott is not just a celebrity guest but an integral part of WWE’s top heel faction. “The thing is, like, he’s in the main group,” Dave Meltzer reported.
“I mean, it’s like the main heel group is like The Rock, Travis Scott, and John Cena. It’s like he’s not just some celebrity who just, you know, happened to be there for the angle … he’s in the lead heel group, yeah.”
AEW’s Swerve Strickland, who spent time with Scott at a charity event in January, confirmed Scott’s training with Booker T. “I was on the golf course with Travis not that long ago. He was telling me, ‘I’m excited, man, I’m training with Booker T. This is gonna be wild,’” Strickland shared on The Bootleg Kev Podcast. “He was more wanting to talk about wrestling than he wanted to talk about music.”
Booker T, who owns Reality of Wrestling in Houston, Texas, has been mentoring Scott as he transitions further into the wrestling world. While Scott’s Elimination Chamber incident sparked internal criticism within WWE, his commitment to training suggests he is serious about his role.
Strickland defended Scott’s excitement but acknowledged the challenges of crossing into the wrestling industry. “That’s a very excited artist who finally got to do his dream,” he said. “But that’s not industry etiquette. So it’s just a crossover thing. He doesn’t know.”
Despite initial backlash, Scott’s training under Booker T and his positioning in WWE’s top faction indicate that his role in wrestling is far from over.
