Two women have been found dead in separate incidents in Karachi, prompting police investigations into their deaths.
In the first case, the naked body of Iram, a 35-year-old woman, was found in a private hotel near Nursery on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Police reported that she had been killed with a sharp object, likely a knife, and had deep wounds on her neck. Her husband, Adil, was present in the room but fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Witnesses heard screams and an argument prior to the discovery of the body.
Iram, a mother of three from Chanesar Goth, had been living with her husband, who worked as a butcher. Police discovered a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, taken from his shop.
Authorities have launched raids in areas including Burns Road and II Chundrigar Road in search of Adil, but he remains at large.
Relatives of the suspect are being questioned, some of whom have gone into hiding. The motive for the killing is still under investigation.
In a separate incident, the body of a 30-year-old woman, identified as Lamila, was found in her home in Lyari’s Old Kumhar Wara area.
Preliminary reports suggest suicide due to domestic issues, though authorities are continuing to investigate.
Her body was sent to Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and police are yet to determine if foul play was involved.
Meanwhile in another case, Mian Channu police arrested a man for allegedly murdering a woman he lured from Karachi through social media. The suspect, 26-year-old Mehmood, was arrested in Bahawalnagar following a police raid.
According to police, they received an emergency call about an unidentified woman’s body found in a wheat field in Chak 126/15L.
The woman, Maimoona, 23, from Karachi, had developed a relationship with Mehmood online. Reports indicate she was pregnant, which led the suspect to lure her to Mian Channu. Police have registered a murder case against the unknown attackers.
