Pakistani security forces killed nine terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The first operation, conducted in the Mohmand District, followed intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants. During the operation, security forces engaged militants at their location, resulting in the deaths of seven terrorists.

However, two Pakistani soldiers, Havildar Muhammad Zahid, 37, from Malakand, and Sepoy Aftab Ali Shah, 26, from Chitral, were killed in the clash.

The ISPR paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, stating they “rendered the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat” (martyrdom) in the line of duty.

In a separate operation in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan District, security forces engaged in a firefight with militants, killing two more terrorists.

The ISPR reported that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were believed to be involved in multiple terrorist activities.

Ongoing sanitization operations are underway to clear any remaining terrorists from the region.

The ISPR reaffirmed the security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating, “The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
