Two students killed as van falls into ravine

ABBOTTABAD:

Two female students were killed, and 11 others, including a woman, suffered injuries after a school van fell into a ravine as the driver lost control of the steering in Tarnawai Didal on Saturday.

Mangal police said that the vehicle was carrying students of Lodhiabad Girls College and Qalandar High School home after school timing. The driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver jumped out of the vehicle instantly before it fell into a deep ditch, resulting in the death of two students on the spot.

Locals participated in rescue operations before the emergency responders arrived at the scene and shifted the deceased and the injured to the Ayub Medical Complex.

Mirpur DSP, Mangal SHO, Qalandarabad Traffic Circle in-charge reached the accident site on receiving information about the incident. The SSP Traffic directed them to contact the heirs of the victims.
