Kim Sae Ron’s mother demands public apology from Kim Soo Hyun and Gold Medalist
Kim Sae Ron’s mother has publicly demanded a formal apology from actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, over claims that he dated the late actress when she was underage. In a statement shared via the Garosero Research Institute YouTube channel, she alleged that Kim Soo Hyun was involved with her daughter when Kim Sae Ron was just 15 years old.
According to a report by Koreaboo, Kim Sae Ron’s mother urged Kim Soo Hyun to publicly acknowledge their alleged underage relationship and issue an apology. She also called on GoldMedalist to admit to manipulating the media over the past three years by denying any romantic involvement between the two. Most recently, the agency had again claimed that the pair had never dated.
She also emphasized Kim Sae Ron’s early involvement with Gold Medalist, noting that her daughter was among its founding members alongside Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Yea Ji. The family is seeking an official acknowledgment and apology for her contributions to the company.
In addition, Kim Sae Ron’s mother referenced a legal notice the actress received from Gold Medalist demanding repayment of approximately ₩700 million KRW (around $482,000 USD). The sum reportedly covered expenses related to Kim Sae Ron’s 2022 DUI case. According to the family, this financial pressure played a role in her emotional distress and eventual death.
Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her residence in Seoul on February 16. Seongdong Police confirmed that the actress died by suicide. She had largely withdrawn from the public eye following the DUI incident. Gold Medalist has maintained that any romantic involvement between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron began only after she became an adult.
