Possibility of increase in price of electricity by 2 rupees 63 paise per unit

Preparations have been made to put more burden on electricity consumers, there is a possibility of an increase in the price of electricity by 2 rupees 63 paise per unit for one month.

A hearing on the CPPA application will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Nepra headquarters.

A revision petition was again filed in NEPRA by the CPPA.

The increase has been sought in the fuel price adjustment for the month of June. In the first application, an increase of Rs 2 10 paise per unit was sought.

The text of the application states that 35.13 percent of electricity was generated from water, 11.06 percent from local coal, 1.95 percent from furnace oil and 8.66 percent from local gas.

Electricity generated from imported LNG accounted for 18.10 percent while nuclear fuel accounted for 14.85 percent.
