IPPs

The government has decided to end the agreements made with the IPPs in the 90s while preparing a big relief for the people.

A task force headed by Energy Minister Owais Leghari has completed the framework, according to which the announcement of termination of the agreements made with IPPs in the 90s is expected soon. Agreements with other IPP companies are also being considered for revision.

Apart from this, it has been decided to change the policy of keeping more than 201 unit consumers in the same slab for 6 months.

Special slabs will be kept for users of units above 201. A slab of Rs 26 per unit is being considered for consumers with more than 201 units.

Disclosure of paying 49 billion rupees annually to IPPs running for 85 hours

In this regard, Energy Minister Owais Leghari has said that the energy sector is important for the economy, reforms are being made in it and will ensure the implementation of these reforms.
