Prime Minister Sharif extended his congratulations to the entire nation, marking this as a monumental moment – Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in three decades. Reflecting on the journey, he credited the Youth Festival as the seedbed for nurturing talents like Arshad Nadeem, whose achievements are now elevating Pakistan’s name on the global stage. “Allah made me a resource to discover a talented young man like Arshad Nadeem,” the Prime Minister remarked, celebrating the momentous occasion.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also expressed his pride in Arshad Nadeem, noting that he not only brought home the gold but also captured the spirit of the nation. “Arshad Nadeem has proven his superiority with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres,” echoed Maryam Nawaz, acknowledging the remarkable feat.

Sajjad Ghani, Chairman of WAPDA and Patron-in-Chief of the WAPDA Sports Board, expressed immense pride in Arshad, who hails from the WAPDA Sports Board. He assured that WAPDA would continue its role in promoting sports and supporting athletes in Pakistan.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori also joined the chorus of accolades, celebrating Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal win in the men’s javelin throw event. “Today, the dream of winning an Olympic gold medal has come true,” Tessori declared, announcing a reward of Rs 1 million for the national hero.
He also highlighted Arshad’s record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres, which shattered an Olympic record that had stood for 118 years.
