Susan Wojcicki, chain smoker? Speculations grow following YouTube ex-CEO’s death

Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has passed away at the age of 56, just months after the tragic loss of her son, who died of a drug overdose in California.

Her husband, Dennis Troper, shared the news in a Facebook post, revealing that Wojcicki had been battling non-small cell lung cancer for two years.

Wojcicki’s death has sparked widespread speculation online, with many questioning whether she was a smoker, given the connection between lung cancer and smoking.

While it is not known if Wojcicki was a smoker, the National Cancer Institute states that “smoking is the major risk factor for non-small cell lung cancer,” though other factors include exposure to secondhand smoke, a family history of lung cancer, or advancing age.

Despite the curiosity, no publicly available evidence confirms Wojcicki’s smoking habits. Her passing marks the end of her battle with cancer, closing a significant chapter in the tech industry where she made lasting contributions to both YouTube and Google.
