Doing our best for our best

Arshad Nadeem, set a new Olympic record in the Javelin throw and won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Despite the lack of resources he could avail, he still made the nation proud. He is an inspiration to all Pakistanis. If our athletes can win one gold medal with such insufficient support, one must assume that we could win dozens of medals if the government gave them the level of help they deserve. We must ensure that our sports institutions are run without political interference and/or conflict of interest and that funds are spent on the athletes. Our athletes need the best coaches, environment, and facilities to prepare for worldwide competitions.
