One person attacked with a knife, 3 people killed, 9 injured

Berlin: A man attacked with a knife during a festival in Solingen, Germany, killing 3 people and injuring 9 others.

According to the foreign news agency, the incident took place in the western city of Germany at around 10:50 pm. The accused who attacked with a knife could not be arrested yet.

The knife attacks were carried out in a market where a music program was in progress. Police and other rescue teams reached the spot on receiving information about the attack and the injured were shifted to the hospital.

According to the authorities, the condition of some of the injured is critical while raids are being conducted to search for the accused.

Solingen is a small town with a population of 150,000, located near Cologne and Dusseldorf. The festival was supposed to continue till Sunday to mark the city’s 650th anniversary, but the area was evacuated after the attack.
