The interim government of Bangladesh lifted the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami

Bangladesh’s interim government has lifted the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, its student wing and all related organisations.

The announcement came in a notification by the government’s home ministry, saying the lifting of the ban has opened up Bangladesh’s political landscape for Jamaat-e-Islami.

With the lifting of the ban, the organization will be able to participate in the political process of Bangladesh and also participate in the political dialogue for holding the next general elections in the country.

Jamaat-e-Islami was banned during the tenure of former Prime Minister Hasina Wajid.
