Commission of Inquiry

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to set up an inquiry commission to investigate the May 9 incidents.

Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam said that the final approval of the decision will be taken from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Aftab Alam says that he is not bound to conduct an inquiry with the judges, if the judiciary does not want to conduct an inquiry, they will establish an inquiry commission themselves.

He further said that in the Inquiries Act, the inquisitor has the powers of a civil judge.
