Paperless state
The prime minister of Pakistan has recently issued directives to all federal ministries, instructing them to process all official cases through the E-Office system developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB). This initiative represents a significant step towards modernizing the bureaucracy by transitioning from a traditional paper-based system to a digital one. One of the most notable benefits of this transition is the anticipated increase in efficiency within the government. By adopting the E-Office system, the government aims to streamline processes, making it easier and quicker to manage official work.
This move towards a paperless environment will not only reduce physical paperwork but also minimize the likelihood of documents getting lost or misplaced, which has been a common issue in the past. Moreover, the introduction of the E-Office system is expected to improve public service delivery. Historically, bureaucratic processes in Pakistan have been plagued by delays, often due to red tape. The E-Office system, by automating and digitizing these processes, will reduce such delays, ensuring that the public receives timely services.
