The government of Iraq has announced that the census will be held in November after 27 years in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani has said that a curfew will be in force in the country on November 20 and 21 to keep the census process safe.

It should be noted that Iraq is scheduled to conduct a census every ten years. The last census was conducted in 1997 but it was possible for 15 provinces, the census was delayed in the three northern provinces of the country.
After 27 years, the census will be conducted on November 20 and 21 due to the improvement of law and order situation in Iraq. An attempt was also made in 2010 but the census had to be suspended due to a sudden deterioration in the country’s situation.
