Unending tragedy

Religious intolerance is not uncommon in our country and has been around for a long time but its frequency appears to have increased sharply in recent years. With each passing day, we hear about heartbreaking incidents where people are killed without even being proven guilty. The law seems to have lost its grip to such an extent that people no longer fear taking it into their own hands.

Last week, a doctor from Umerkot, Sindh was killed by police after an angry mob demanded action against him based on unverified accusations. When will this madness end? How many more innocent lives will be lost due to unproven accusations?
