The 3-month relief of up to 200 units will end from September 30

The 3-month relief of up to 200 units of electricity consumers in the country will end from September 30.

According to sources, the 3-month government relief for electricity consumers will end on September 30 and the basic tariff for consumers up to 200 units per month will increase to 7.12 per unit from October 1.

Sources say that the tariff of non-protected customers up to 100 units will increase by Rs 7.11 to Rs 23.59, while the tariff of non-protected customers from 101 to 200 units will increase by Rs 7.12 to Rs 30.07.

Apart from this, the tariff of protected customers from one to 100 units will increase by Rs.3.95 to Rs.11.69 while the tariff of protected customers from 101 to 200 units will increase by Rs.4.10 to Rs.14.16.

According to the sources, the tariff per unit for Lifeline users up to 50 units per month will remain at Rs 3.95, while the per unit tariff for Lifeline users from 51 to 100 units per month will remain at Rs 7.74.

Sources say that the federal government had increased the basic electricity tariff to Rs 7.12 per unit in July 2024, the government had exempted the consumers up to 200 units per month from the increase for 3 months.

The federal government had stopped the increase in electricity price from 50 billion subsidy to 200 units per month for 3 months.
