SHARJAH: The head coach of the Pakistan national women’s cricket team, Mohammad Wasim, discussed the teams preparation ahead of their first game in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Wasim stated that they have done all the possible preparation that the team can for the world cup such as trying different combinations in the warm-up matches.
Pakistan lost to Scotland by eight wickets on September 29 in their first warm up match before losing to Bangladesh by 23 runs on September 30 in their second.

The coach said that Pakistan’s performances at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium have been memorable and he hopes that the women’s cricket team can add to that legacy with an exemplary performance.
Wasim discussed the teams last encounter with Sri Lanka in the semi final of the Women’s Asia Cup. Pakistan beat Nepal and the United Arab Emirates on their way to final four, before losing to Sri Lanka by three wickets. It was a narrow loss with the only one ball remaining. Sri Lanka would go on to beat India and win the tournament.
“We will try to win the first match of the World Cup against Sri Lanka,” said Wasim, adding that the team wants to face India with a win.
