”
MULTAN: Pakistan men’s cricket team is teetering on the brink of an unwanted millstone in their Test series with England, with their last four batters managing a mere 115 runs combined in a single innings!
This would mark a first in cricket history, as no team has previously recorded five players scoring less than 20 runs in their very first innings of a test match!

The Three Lions declared their first innings at an astonishing 823 runs! This set a new record for the highest total in Test cricket.
The hosts struggled to withstand the relenstles pressure from the English, with Abdullah Shafique dismissed for a duck on the very first ball of their innings!
England’s Harry Brook and Joe Root emerged ad the standout perofmrers for their country. The former notched a whopping 300 runs off just 400 balls!
Harry Brook has become only the second player in Test history to achieve a run-a-ball triple century, following in the footsteps of cricketing legend Virender Sehwag.
Captain Root also smashed it out of the park with his weapon of choice: the cricket bat. The English formed a record breaking partnership with Brook, showcasing his exceptional skills.
Brook’s inning could only be described a blend of aggressive play with his bat, paired with running in between the Pakistani fielders fooling around on the field.
Interestingly, despite such a great performance, Joe Root actually scored the lowest per centage of his runs in boundaries among players who have scored 250 or more in a Test match.
The match has shed light on the huge contrast in fitness levels of the Men in Green and the Tea-drinkers. England’s players exhibited superior stamina, having spent over 150 overs in the field before their batting innings began.
Meanwhile, the host’s second innings saw them collapse under pressure, with loose shots contributing to their downfall.
England’s bowlers, led by Bryndon Carse, executed superb performance as well. They maintained a disciplined length and exploited every crack in the Pakistani batting lineup.
This match will go down in the annals of cricketing history, as only a handful of players achieved the feat of scoring a triple century in Test matches.
Other cricketing greats with such feat include West Indies’ giant Brian Lara who holds the record for the highest individual score in Test cricket with 400 not out, and probably the greatest of all time: Sir Don Bradman.
