The Prime Minister will chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit today

ISLAMABAD: The regular summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is being held in Pakistan today. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will preside over the SCO conference.

Pakistan is hosting a major event after 27 years. Prime Ministers of 8 countries are participating in the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, environment will be discussed in the meeting. Chinese Prime Minister Li Chiang, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Prime Ministers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia are also participating in the meeting.

Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar, Uzbek Prime Minister and Iranian Minister of Minerals are also part of the conference. This morning, the distinguished guests will reach the Jinnah Convention Center and will be welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will deliver the opening address at the beginning of the meeting. After the speeches of the foreign leaders, the documents will be signed. The agenda items of the conference will be completed with the concluding remarks of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and SCO Secretary General will address the media at the end of the conference. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also organize a luncheon in honor of the participants of the conference.
