Pakistan all out for 221 in second innings
”
MULTAN: Pakistan weren’t able to survive on Thursday, as England ended their second innings in the 60th over, after the men in green made 221 runs.
After the lunch break, Pakistan were placing their hopes in Kamran Ghulam, but unfortunately, the debutant was dismissed in the 21st over after Jack Leach took his first wicket of the second innings. The ball hit Ghulam’s pads, and despite the review, ball-tracking showed that the middle stump was destined to fall.
Mohammad Rizwan would fall next, on a delivery from Brydon Carse that found the edge of the bat before being caught by Joe Root. Saud Shakeel was dismissed in the 43rd over in the same way. The umpire didn’t give the lbw at first, but the review showed that once again, the middle stump would have fallen.
Two overs later Aamer Jamal was bowled by Leach, as he picked up the pace with a quicker ball that ended up taking out the off stump. Another two overs later, Noman Ali was dismissed. Shoaib Bashir got his fourth wicket of Pakistan’s second innings, after his delivery spun away from Ali, grabbing an edge on its way before landing in the hands of the man at slip, England skipper Ben Stokes.

Salman Agha would fall in the 59th over, but not before making a vital contribution to the team, scoring the most runs out of the Pakistani batting line-up at 63 off 89 deliveries. Poor timing on the swing would pull the ball to mid-wicket, to Stokes once again for the catch, this time on a delivery from Carse.
England trail by 296 runs.
BEFORE THE LUNCH BREAK
Abdullah Shafique had another abysmal performance, being sent off after only scoring four runs off 19 deliveries. Shoaib Bashir would get the wicket, after wicketkeeper Jamie Smith took the catch. Contact with the edge of Shafique’s bat was shown courtesy of the Ultra-Edge review. Shafique has made a total of 11 runs across both innings, scoring seven in the first.
Pakistan skipper Shan Masood was equally awful, being dismissed after scoring 11 runs off 18 balls. It was Shoaib Bashir who got the wicket once again, after finding the edge of Masood’s bat which sent the ball to Ollie Pope at slip who took the catch. Masood made only three runs in the first innings, giving him a total of 14 runs across both innings.
