BEIJING: According to the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), Pakistan’s meat exports to China reached $3.3 million during the first nine months of this year from January to September.
Ghulam Qadir, trade and investment consul at the Pakistani embassy in Beijing, said Chinese consumers are becoming more adventurous in their food choices. And are interested in trying high quality meat from countries like Pakistan.
He said that the country’s rich tradition in meat production, especially beef and mutton, is well aligned with the preferences of Chinese consumers. This demand is not just a trend. This is part of China’s broader goal of diversifying its meat sources and increasing food security.
According to China Economic Net, how did Pakistan achieve this milestone? It depends on hard work and strategic planning. The government has been instrumental in implementing policies to increase export potential.
Pakistani meat exporters have demonstrated their ability to meet China’s stringent standards. Be it to ensure hygiene or to provide constant supply. They have proven that they can compete at the international level.
