CHATTOGRAM: South Africa swept Bangladesh in their two-test series, with a dominant win on Thursday that saw them defeat Bangladesh by an innings and 273 runs
KESHAV MAHARAJ FIVE-FER
Keshav Maharaj would have a fantastic spell in the second innings, taking a five-wicket haul beginning with the dismissal of Mominul Haque, who was Bangladesh’s highest run scorer in the previous inning. Haque was dismissed for a duck on the second ball he faced, as he hit the ball deep to the only man in the area, Senuran Muthusamy.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz would be dismissed in the 22nd over and this time it was Tristan Stubbs who took the catch after Miraz misjudged the delivery which found the top edge of his bat before heading toward backward square leg. Maharaj would pick up his third wicket in the 36th over. Taijul Islam would mistime a shot, leading to a simple catch by Kagiso Rabada at mid-on.
The fourth and fifth dismissal of Maharaj’s five wicket haul would be the last two of the match. Mahidul Islam Ankon would fall in the 42nd over as Rabada took another catch that came his way to long off after a poor slice by the Bangladeshi batter.

Nahid Rana would be the final man to fall. An attempted defensive shot would pop up the ball to silly mid off and David Bedingham would take the final catch.
MUTHUSAMY’S SENURAN
Muthusamy would take the first wicket of his incredible spell next, dismissing Mahudmul Hasan Joy in the 11th over. Joy was sent off for only 11 runs, after a defensive shot popped up the ball to first slip where South Africa skipper Aiden Markram took the catch.
Muthusamy would take another wicket in the 15th over, as Zakir Hasan missed a ball that he walked down the wicket to play, leaving the stumps ripe for the taking.
He would get his third wicket in the 17th over, dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim after a well used review. Rahim attempted a sweep but missed as the ball hit his back leg. UltraEdge showed nocontact with the bat, and Ball Tracking did the rest, proving that the leg stump would have fallen.

Najmul Hossain Shanto fell in the 29th over, giving Muthusamy his fourth wicket, as his delivery found the inside edge of Shanto’s bat before ricocheting off his pad and into de Zorzi’s hands at leg slip.
DANE PATERSON
Dane Paterson took the first wicket, dismissing Shadman Islam in the sixth over. The Bangladeshi batter only managed to make 6 runs before Paterson’s delivery found the edge of the bat on its way to South Africa wicket keeper Kyle Verreynne’s gloves.
