
Ghazanfar takes six as Afghanistan win first ODI

SHARJAH: Afghanistan lead the three match ODI series 1-0, after an incredible performance from Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar which helped Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 92 runs.
The 18-year old spin bowler took six wickets, pulling the brunt of the weight as Afghanistan held Bangladesh to only 143 runs.
GHAZANFAR’S SIX WICKET HAUL
Ghazanfar’s first wicket came in the third over of the match, as Tanzid Hassan misjudged the delivery. A moment of hesitation was all it took for the ball to go crashing into the stumps.
He would get his second wicket in the 31st over, as Mehidy Hasan Miraz tried his hand at a sweep, but the delivery only connected with the top edge of his bat, sending the ball flying to short fine leg, where Azmatullah Omarzai took a running catch.

Ghazanfar would truly show his dominance in the 33rd over, in which he took three wickets. The first came on the first ball of the over, as Ghazanfar’s delivery spun away from Mushfiqur Rahim who took a couple steps out of the crease. Ikram Alikhil did the rest by whipping off the bails.
A few balls later, the Afghanistan spinner dismiss Rishad Hossain with an lbw as the ball hit the Afghanistan batters back pad. The umpire raised his finger much to the dismay of Bangladesh.
Things would get even worse for batting side as Ghazanfar would take another wicket on the very next ball. The delivery would spin past the outside edge of Taskin Ahmed’s bat and into the off stump.
Ghazanfar would take his sixth and the final wicket of the game, in the 35th over. Shoriful Islam was the last man to fall for Bangladesh after he attempted to blast the ball for six. The delivery went past the inside edge of the bat and splayed the stumps one last time.
