ADELAIDE: Pakistan began their innings against Australia on Friday, after holding down the Aussies to the low score of 163 runs.
After a dominant bowling performance from Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, in which they took five and three wickets respectively, Australia were left to defend their lowest total ever against Pakistan in ODI’s.
With a target of 164 runs, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique came down to the pitch. Ayub is nearing a half century, as the Pakistani opener has made 37 runs off 40 deliveries, smashing four fours and two sixes. Shafique has made 27 runs off 33 deliveries, hitting three fours of his own.
Pakistan currently stand at 72 runs for no loss after 12 overs. The men in green need 92 runs from 37.5 overs.
