Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan inaugurated City Van Service at Netco Head Office

Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan inaugurated city van service, Gilgit to Kashgar bus service and modern passenger terminal at Netco Head Office Gilgit.

Talking to the media, the Chief Minister has said that NETCO is a national institution, this important institution was neglected in previous periods, our government is taking all possible steps for the improvement of NETCO.

In addition to the annual grant, a special grant of 41 crores has been given for the purchase of 15 modern buses. Netco will provide better transport facilities by starting city van service and Gilgit to China bus service.

The introduction of online ticketing system by Netco will eliminate the difficulties faced by the passengers in getting tickets, the introduction of city van service for passengers in Gilgit will provide the best travel facilities to the people.

Special measures are being taken to make Netco a profitable enterprise, making possible phased payment of previous arrears. The Chief Minister said that by introducing new reforms in Netco, people’s confidence will be restored.

On this occasion, he directed MD Netco to construct modern terminals for passengers in all districts including Ghazar and Diamar on the pattern of Gilgit and Skardu.

He said that the provincial finance secretary and MD Netco were given the task of reducing the deficit of the national institution and making it profitable, which they are going to accomplish in a short period of time.

He said that Netco is currently saving one crore rupees per month which is welcome. The Chief Minister congratulated MD Netco and Netco management for their excellent performance.

He directed MD Netco to give 15% DRA allowance to the employees from January. On this occasion, MD Netco gave a briefing to the Chief Minister regarding the performance of the organization and various operations.
