Opposing new permanent seats in the UN Security Council, Pakistan demanded equitable and accountable reforms in the Security Council.
In the debate on equal representation and increase in the membership of the Security Council in the General Assembly, Pakistani delegate Munir Akram said that the Security Council failed to respond effectively to threats to international peace and security.
The coming of the Trump government will not have any effect on the relations between Pakistan and the United States, said the spokesperson of the Foreign Office
He said that the addition of new permanent members will deepen the paralysis in the Security Council, the addition of new permanent members is not a solution to the problem but a part of the problem.
