A 52 kg precious tortoise of a rare breed was recovered by the wildlife department in Sadiqabad.

According to the spokesperson of the wildlife department, the soft shell turtle of Chitraandika species is included in the list of endangered wildlife.

The spokesman has said that the Punjab Wildlife Department raided Sadiqabad after the video went viral on social media, the turtle was kept in a pond.

The wildlife department staff with the help of the local population recovered the turtle after several hours of efforts, one person was arrested and nets and other equipment were seized.
