PTI is continuously inviting foreign interference, Sherry Rehman

ISLAMABAD: Leader of PPP Senator Sherry Rehman has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is continuously inviting foreign intervention for the release of Imran Khan.

Senator Sherry Rahman said in a statement that the letter written by US Congress members to President Joe Biden is another nail in the coffin of the “true freedom” statement.

He said that the letter of the American members of Congress is a clear interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.

Sherry Rehman said that interfering in the political and legal affairs of other countries is against international norms. The letter challenges the independence of Pakistan’s political system and judiciary. The letter also sets a dangerous precedent for a country to justify intervention.

He said that Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s lobbying efforts against Pakistan in America are also condemnable. This is the same political party that has been doing politics in the past by creating a narrative of “American intervention”. It is a double standard for Tehreek-e-Insaaf itself to resort to such interference.
