The Australian House of Representatives has approved a bill to ban the use of social media by children under the age of 16.

The House of Representatives passed the bill by a vote of 102 to 13. After the bill is passed by the Senate, authorities will have to put in place security measures to prevent minors from accessing social media platforms within a year.

According to foreign media, if the ban is not followed, the social media platform may be fined up to 33 million dollars.

It should be noted that after the final approval by the Senate, this will become the first law of its kind in the world.
