Energy Minister Owais Laghari has said that the new electricity added to the National Grid will be more expensive.
Talking to the media, Federal Energy Minister Owais Laghari said that out of the newly added 17,000 megawatts of electricity, only 87 megawatts of electricity is cheap.
He said that the country’s economy is running because of entrepreneurs, may Allah make more profit and pay taxes.
He said that the biggest problem while taking over the government was the price of electricity, till date Pakistan has never bought cheap electricity under its formula, the electricity added to the national grid will be more expensive.
In the next few months, electricity prices will be reduced, Owais Leghari announced the good news
Owais Leghari said that in the future, no electricity company will charge you one rupee extra, this is a revolution that does not come at D Chowk, the electricity package would be for 6 months, not just 3 months, the additional electricity should be auctioned. Additional electricity will be purchased through auction, if the results of the electricity facility turn out to be good, it will run for the whole year.
He said that a target of loss was given under circular debt management, the distribution companies lost only 11 billion rupees in the first 4 months of the current financial year, the reason for the reduction in losses is the independent boards of the discos.
