Awami Action Committee’s protest came to fruition, the Azad Kashmir government withdrew the controversial Presidential Ordinance, the notification of which was also issued.

Under the Presidential Ordinance, a ban was imposed on processions without permission, against which the Awami Action Committee went on strike.

Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry had directed the Azad Kashmir government to immediately withdraw the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Ordinance. The President of Azad Kashmir had also written a letter to Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq in this regard.

On the other hand, the meeting of the Parliamentary Party of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PPP) was held at Zardari House Karachi yesterday, in which the Parliamentary Party rejected the Presidential Ordinance.
