After the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria, thousands of political prisoners were released from a military prison in Damascus.
In a video provided by a foreign news agency, opposition forces can be seen in the central control room of Syria’s notorious Saydnaya prison. Hundreds of Syrian women and children are also included among those released.

The video also includes scenes from outside the prison where the released prisoners can be seen walking out of the prison.
It should be noted that the Syrian opposition forces have captured the capital Damascus after various cities, after which President Bashar al-Assad fled the country and took political asylum in Russia.
