Greece boat crash reveals international network in human trafficking

ISLAMABAD: The report on the Greece boat accident has revealed the international network involved in human trafficking.

The Special Committee Report on the Greece boat accident has revealed the involvement of international networks in human trafficking. Last year, a report on the Yunnan boat accident was submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office for implementation.

According to the report, this human trafficking network from Pakistan has spread to 4 countries. Prosecution of UK-based human traffickers recommended.

A copy of the report and network map was obtained by We Investigates. The committee also handed over the details of the network and all the human traffickers associated with them to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Cases were registered in Lahore against 3 facilitators of the ringleader in Pakistan. 2 suspects involved in human trafficking were running networks in Libya and 2 in Italy.

The report also recommended strict action against the involved FIA officials. While it has also been recommended to investigate the assets of all FIA Immigration officials.

It may be noted that the Joint Investigation Committee had recommended action against 40 major traffickers of the network.
