The Prime Minister gave a positive response to our position, Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman says that the Prime Minister has invited a meeting for discussion on the bill related to madrasas, in which the response to all our questions has been positive.

Talking to the media after the meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we reiterated our position in the meeting, we made it clear that the bill has become an act after being approved by both houses.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that if the President wants to object, then one objection has already been made which was answered by the Speaker, the second objection sent by the President is not constitutional.

The JUI chief said that the President did not react to the Speaker’s reply, the second objection was sent after the expiry of the constitutional period which has not yet reached the Speaker’s office.

Fazlur Rehman said that our position was given a very positive response, the Prime Minister gave immediate instructions to the Ministry of Law to take practical steps according to the law and the constitution. We hope that the practical steps according to the constitution and the law will be in accordance with our demands.

He said that the Prime Minister spoke with good intentions, hopefully the issue will be resolved, perhaps there will be no need for a joint session of Parliament on this issue.
