Rey Misterio Sr, born as Miguel Angel Lopez Diaz, was a prominent wrestling figure within Mexico’s wrestling scene. He captivated the audience with his over-the-top style and appealing charm.

The Mexican enjoyed a career spanning over 50 decades, beginning in 1976. The wrestler was immediately noticed in several wrestling promotions, including Pro Wrestling Revolution, Tijuana Wrestling and, arguably the most famous, World Wrestling Association (WWA).

He won the IWC World Middleweight Championship twice, and wrestled his final match as late as 2023.

Rey Misterio Sr was not only known for his prowess within the ring but also for his role as a trainer and a kind mentor.

The Mexican played an important part in shaping the career of several famous wrestlers – Konnan, Halloween, and Damian 666.
