Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir says that martyrs are the pride of Pakistan, their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
According to ISPR, the Army Chief visited Wana area of South Waziristan, and was received by Corps Commander Peshawar upon reaching Wana. The Army Chief was briefed on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

On this occasion, the Army Chief talked to the officers and soldiers, appreciated the steadfastness of the soldiers in the war against terrorism, he said that they are determined to end terrorism with the support of the nation, and peace will be ensured in the country.
The Army Chief reiterated his commitment to the complete elimination of Fitnah-ul-Khawarij, he said that the men of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies are the true heroes of the nation, and the nation is proud of the bravery and selfless dedication of the men.
